Sanctuary II
Time passes, seasons change and the skies lighten. This series of photos were taken whilst out walking with my newborn son. He'd either be asleep on my chest or reaching from his carrier to point upwards, eyes wide with wonder, at the wind ruffling the leaves or the acrobatics of house martins.
In the woodlands a new season’s growth softens the chill, dank grasp of the undergrowth. Though shadows still flicker in the darker recesses, warming breezes flutter through the veil of trees. The clouds lift and light is allowed in, dappling the forest floor. The way forward is illuminated, the path leading out of the tangled thickets - out of my own darkness.
