Jon Wyatt Photography - Atlantic oakwoods in Culbone Wood, North Somerset
Culbone Wood, North Somerset. The Atlantic oakwoods which drop steeply into the Bristol Channel here are home to rare mosses, lichens and several species of rare Whitebeam. They form one of the longest unbroken stretches of coastal woodland in England, established in the last 500 years whilst coppice management was prevalent and increased light came through the canopy.
