Jon Wyatt Photography - Reedbed in Bridgewater Bay in North Somerset
Reedbeds, Steart Marsh, North Somerset. This coastal saltmarsh is one of the UK's largest wetland reserves. This habitat has been shown to store more carbon in four years than one million new trees in ten years. It also provides flood defences and is home to a large array of wildlife and rare salt-tolerant plants. In 2013 this site was chosen as the first site of the UK's new generation of nuclear power plants.
